WinSCP

Windows client for SFTP and FTPS.

  1. Open WinSCP. In the Login dialog, choose New Site.
  2. Set File protocol to SFTP, Host name to sftp.dropwarden.com and Port number to 22.
  3. Enter your username. For key login, leave the password empty, select Advanced, then SSH > Authentication, and choose your private key file. WinSCP offers to convert an OpenSSH key to its PuTTY format; accept.
  4. Select Save, then Login. On first connect, check that the host key fingerprint matches the one in the portal before you accept it.

FTPS settings

For FTPS instead: set File protocol to FTP and Encryption to TLS/SSL Explicit encryption, Port number 21, and log in with your password.

FTPS has no SSH key authentication, so FTPS logins always use a password. An organization admin must allow passwords for your organization and set one for your login. Prefer SFTP with an SSH key when your system supports it.

Verify the server on first connect: compare the host key fingerprint your client shows with the one in the portal under Get started, step Connect. If they differ, do not continue and contact [email protected].
